Who ARE these people?

Whew ! Survived that!

Well, Invasion of The Parents went quite well. I didn't burn any of the dinner, or drop it on the floor, no cats were caught on the dining room table, so all in all, it was a success.

But my house! Oy! It WAS clean for about four hours. Then the gifts arrived, and it's chaos once again. Actually, it was only psuedo clean, with all the crap tucked away in various places not open to the public. I figured we needed to get the downstairs presentable, and have the bathroom clean. I closed two of the bedroom doors. Our room is pretty ok looking....the bed was made, etc, etc. So...despite not really having enough places for people to sit, things went ok. How DID people entertain in these old houses? With six of us in the living room, you could barely move. It was ok after dinner when the menfolk went to watch baseball and the women stayed in the dining room chatting, but I cannot IMAGINE having a party in this house!

Which is too bad, since we got a lot of nice gifts! The multiple winner for this couple's wedding is.....indoor grills! We got THREE of 'em. We think we will take back two and put it toward the toaster over that Husband so desperately wants. We also wound up with two cake plates....I'm not so sure I want to keep the one, even though it is VERY lovely...a ceramic-y Lenox one. I mean, how many cake plates does a girl really need? We're also never going to need dish towels again. But that's cool. It's not like they spoil, yanno?

Speaking of spoiling, we are still eating wedding cake. There was most of the bottom layer left over from the reception, and mom froze it, and brought it over for last night. Husband and I need to get to it and finish it, even though there is still a TON left. The buttercream icing isn't so tasty anymore, but the cake sure is...chocolate with raspberry filling. YUM.

Fall is here. Yuck. HATE fall. It's all about things dying, and darkness, and cold. Yuck yuck yuck. It happens to be Husband's favorite season. The freak.

Urgh. It's Monday. Back to the evil office. But hey...tomorrow IS payday, and I SHOULD have my raise in this check. Woo hoo. Now, let's see how much it is after taxes. You'd think 400 bucks more a month gross would amount to SOMETHING net, wouldn't you?
