Year old cake

Husband's not really in the doghouse. I mean, it was a stupid Freudian slip, etc, etc.

But at the same time, when he hurts my feelings, I have to let him know, so he can avoid doing it again!

We had a nice evening. Checked into the downtown hotel where we had our wedding reception, had a niceish dinner there, ate year old wedding cake, and had a nice evening. (wink, wink)

Here's the year old cake:

Contrast with what it looked like originally....

It was a little worse for the wear aesthetically, but yanno, it tastes pretty good! Not dry at all. The frosting has seen better days, but the cake part is really good!

Yesterday, when Husband came home from the grocery, he brought a bunch of Stargazer lilies for me...my favorite flower, and the main flower in my bouquet. Awwwww.

Hm. What else? We think we bought a sofa today. Husband is the commercial voice of a local furniture store that carries really good quality stuff. So I suggested we check out what's there, since he claims our current sofa isn't very comfortable, and he'd rather a new one than recovering the one we have. OK, I said, see if you can get a deal because you're their commercial guy. He said he'd work on it, but we could look since, we took today off. Well, we found a couple nice ones...sectionals, but not too big, because we have an odd sized living room. The sales woman, who is also co-owner, got us info, introduced herself, etc, and I introduced Husband, whereupon she IMMEDIATELY said "Oh, well, we can do even better for you on price then". Bottom line....we can get about a grand off a 3 grand sofa.

Holy shit. THREE THOUSAND BUCKS for a sofa?!?! Jesus. Even two is a lot But this really is good stuff. Quality. Will go with the rug we're getting from my parents. Will fit in current living room and be able to be transplanted into a new house. So...we'll probably go with it. The furniture store even gave us a pamphlet for a charitable organization that comes to you house and takes away your old sofa. Since there was so much flooding here this summer, there are probably plenty of folks who could use a halfway decent (and really....the bones are good, it just needs to be recovered) sofa bed.

Millie the cat is adorable, of course.

Good thing, because she seems to have some litter box issues, and is pooping on the floor. Stinky, gross, nasty poop. We got another litter pan, and have placed it closed to the living room....I'm thinking she's just not made the psychic connection to go into the basement yet, and placing a pan nearer to where she is much of the time will help. It better.
