Who ARE these people?

Long day.
What can I write about this day? What is there to say that hasn't been said in this day of endless words? I'm relieved that no one I know has been hurt. And I'm shocked, just like he rest of the world. It was a busy, busy day at work. We did ok, I think. Good job pulling together. By mid afternoon, though, I needed quiet, and wanted to be with the Beloved for awhile. I mean, if the world is ending, he's who I want to end it with. He came over, we had dinner, watched tv coverage, and just....held hands. Am fairly disgusted by people, as usual. No, not the terrorists, but the selfish, grabby humans in my town, and others like it. By afternoon, there were lines at gas stations, and rumors were flying of gas prices of 4 dollars a gallon. Here were are, essentially untouched in the midwest, and people are doing their "a blizzard's coming" panic. I don't worry so much about our military if we go to war, I worry about our citizens. We are soft, and lazy, and into immediate gratification. I really doubt our ability to pull together and make sacrifices if needed. Our threat won't be "the other side", our threat will come from within.
